My name is Alice Ward and I am the owner of Love Dogs. I became a dog groomer as I have always wanted to work with animals, especially dogs. I was brought up on a farm and have been animal nuts since I can remember. We have always kept dogs, and I can't imagine a life without them- they are an important part of my family. I have two young children, and it is wonderful to watch their love for the dogs too, they want to say hello to the dogs that come to the house, and give them a hug and a treat. Any dog that comes to our house is welcomed and treated as a guest.

Each month Love Dogs Newark support the following charities:

  • Hillside Animal Sanctuary, this charity was set up to help and campaign for animals in need' and most importantly, to bring public awareness to the millions of animals suffering every day in the intensive factory farming industry.

  • Animal Heaven Animal Rescue

  • 'pfk' (prince fluffy Kareem)

  • RSPCA Centre Nottingham, where I am a registered volunteer and where I have always adopted my cats from.
I am passionate about animal welfare and animal rights and believing in always supporting our local and national animal charities.

Harvey, our rescue boy. We got him nearly a decade ago from a succession of 5 failed homes, finally ending up on preloved advertised for free. He was wild, aggressive, he had separation anxiety and dog aggression. He’s still not completely comfortable with new dogs – but he is getting there, and he’s such a wonderful, obedient and loving dog now.
Willow, my bundle of cute naughtiness. I bought her to compete with in the handstripping classes and I’ve totally fallen head over heals in love with her. She a terrier through and through, but with such charisma and cheekiness.
